Another busy week in Year 3. We successfully built an 'aqueduct' in the playground and transported our rubber duck along it.
Additionally, we sang to the whole school during assembly.
To finish a busy term off we all took part in a Diwali party and made traditional biscuits and paper crafts to celebrate.

We have finished writing our campfire instructions and this will be our last week focusing on number and place value. Next week we will progress onto addition and subtraction.
Week commencing 16th September 2019
We worked hard on writing instructions for how to build a fire. We have been practicing the actions and thinking about the vocabulary we would use. We even had a fire in the school fire pit and toasted marshmallows and bread. We had a visit from Northampton Museum and found out even more about the Romans. We saw some tools the Romans would have used to clean out their ears!
Week commencing 9th September 2019
This week we have been really busy! We explored all about the Romans. We were soldiers fighting the Celts and we tried to make a fire. We made a timeline all about the Roman Empire.
In maths we worked out how many ones, tens and hundreds make up different numbers. We had a very busy week of learning. It was fun and the most we have ever learned in one week! I really enjoyed helping Miss Patrick to draw pictures for our Roman Soldier text map. I drew details of the Roman Soldier.
Week commencing 2nd September 2019
I am delighted to have joined Vernon Terrace as Class Teacher in Year 3 and look forward to what promises to be an exciting year of learning for all of the children. Our first topic is entitled 'I am Warrior' and the focus will be on finding out more about life as a Roman Soldier and linking this into our learning. The children have returned to school eager and ready for learning and are very much enjoying discovering more about life in the Roman Empire and working hard on place value in maths.
From next week the children will take over the writing of the blog.
Our P.E. days are Wednesday and Friday. Please make sure that your child has their P.E. kit in school on these days.
